What's More Touching than Celebrating an Anniversary with a Vow Renewal?

At Tora and Fitch what we love, is... well, love!

How better to celebrate an anniversary than by renewing your vows? Don't just say you'd marry them all over again...do it!

Planning a vow renewal ceremony, one that is true to who you two have become after all these years, is special way to celebrate your love and commitment to each other. Here are some steps to help you plan a successful vow renewal:

  1. Decide on the details: Think about what type of ceremony you want to have, where you want it to take place, how many guests you want to invite, and what type of attire you want to wear. These decisions will help guide your planning process. Remember to choose according to your personalities and tastes today - don't simply recreate your wedding. Your tastes have matured, so should your celebration! For example, incorporate elegant mismatch place settings for the anniversary couple for a pop at the table (and an amazing keepsake).

  2. Choose a date: Try to plan it as close to (if not on!) your anniversary which you believe will work for most of your guests.

  3. Send invitations: Send out invitations to your guests, including the date, time, and location of the ceremony. You can also include any specific dress code or theme that you want your guests to follow.

  4. Plan the ceremony: Decide on the details of the ceremony, such as who will officiate, what readings or music you want, and whether you want to exchange new vows or renew your original ones. You can also choose to include any special traditions or rituals that are important to you.

  5. Plan the reception: If you're having a reception, decide on the details such as the venue, the menu, and any entertainment or activities you want to include. You can also choose to have a cake-cutting ceremony or a first (second) dance.

  6. Choose any special touches: Consider any special touches that will make the ceremony or reception unique to you and your spouse. This could include personalized decorations, a slideshow of photos, or a special gift exchange.

  7. Practice and prepare: Practice your vows and any readings ahead of time, and make sure everyone involved in the ceremony knows their role. Also, confirm any arrangements with vendors or venues to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day of the ceremony.

Remember, the most important thing is that the ceremony and reception reflect your love and commitment to each other. Don't be afraid to get creative and make it your own.
